  • Provide our staff with:

    • Relevant medical records

    • Authorization if applicable

What Steps Can I, The Patient, Take To Ensure I Have Success After Leaving My Appointment?

  • Review the materials the doctor gave you. If you can’t remember something, or if you don’t understand your notes, you may call the office and speak to a member of the clinical staff
  • Follow the doctor’s instructions. If medication was prescribed, take the full course as instructed.  Follow the prescribed diet or exercise routine.  If physical therapy was prescribed, make sure you attend physical therapy as recommended.
  • Keep us informed of any changes in your condition, or concerns you may have.
  • Follow up with the clinical staff members on test results, adverse reactions to medication, any complications or worsening of your condition.

What Is A Certified Athletic Trainer?

An athletic trainer is a health care professional who provides service and treatment, under the direction or in collaboration with a physician. As part of the healthcare team, the athletic trainer may provide services such as injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergency care, examination of acute or chronic injuries, and therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

What Is A Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon?

After completion of all training, an orthopedic surgeon can apply to become board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Board certification involves a two-test process, a written test followed by an in person test.  Anz is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.  Orthopedic surgeons can also choose to take a written test and submit cases to become board certified in a subspeciality.  Dr. Anz is subspeciality board certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.

What Is The Educational Training Of An Orthopedic Surgeon?

  • 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 5 years of an orthopedic residency.
  • After residency, Dr. Anz also complete a year of additional training in sports medicine orthopedic surgery

Will Physical Therapy Be Required After Surgery?

Physical therapy will be prescribed following surgery as a part of your treatment plan. Following orthopedic surgery, regaining full range of motion, strength, and functional movement patterns is vital to recovery.  This is an important determinant for success.

Will I Need Surgery?

Although you are seeing an orthopedic surgeon, surgery is not always the best treatment option. Non-surgical treatment options may include R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression, elevation), bracing, physical therapy, and/or injections
